TOURISM & RECREATION

There are great opportunities for recreation and tourism in and around Dinsmore.

Like many Saskatchewan villages the hub of our recreation is our Arena. The facility was built in 1994 housing 2 curling ice surfaces, a three lane bowling alley and an artificial skating ice surface. There is a large kitchen and lobby area which has also been used to host family reunions, weddings, etc. The upstairs Mezzanine meeting area is used year round for Kinsmen/Kinette and Legion meetings as well as being rented to the public for various functions. There are 5 dressing rooms all with showers, which are also accessible upon request to campers in the summer making use of our free serviced campground facilities.

The sports grounds hosts 4 softball/hardball diamonds and a soccer field. Golfers can enjoy the use of the Dinsmore Driving Range. The Milden Golf Course and Outlook Riverside Golf Course are both within a ½ hour drive from Dinsmore. The Dinsmore Composite School has a nice school gym which can be booked for indoor activities throughout the year.

Lake Diefenbaker and the Diefenbaker Dam are about a 30 minute drive east of Dinsmore. The large expanse of Lake Diefenbaker features numerous campgrounds great fishing and boating activities. Try out the Riverhurst Ferry which runs seasonally approximately 40 minutes south of Dinsmore on Highway 42. In the Fall, hunters enjoy the large and diverse deer and bird populations which are ever abundant right around Dinsmore.

Tourists can enjoy all these recreational activities or simply kick back and relax in the quiet of the village.
