Welcome to Dinsmore
“ BUCKLE OF THE WHEATBELT”
A well-kept village and a friendly place to live!

Dinsmore, named after the local postmaster, was settled by British, Finnish and American immigrants and was established as a village in 1913. Energetic, forward-looking, generous citizens who have pulled together to do the best for its people have always populated Dinsmore. Our latest success story is the purchase of an 18-passenger handivan available for use by local institutions and area residents. This vehicle was funded through generous local donations and support of the Saskatchewan Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation.

With a population of 375 people, Dinsmore community supports a 22-bed Health Centre, which employs many health professionals within the Heartland Health Region. We have a fire and ambulance crew to respond to emergencies. There is a medical clinic with physician/pharmacy services. Visiting health professionals provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy, mental health consultations, child health conferences, and dietician consultations. Meals on Wheels are provided to residents in the community through the dietary department.

Dinsmore has 2 financial institutions, 1 grocery store, 2 café’s, 1 Bed and Breakfast, 2 service stations with mechanic and agricultural parts/services, 4 hair stylists, Certified General Accountant and Insurance offices, Canada Post outlet, a fitness center and K-12 school. Our village supports many independent business people who operate small home-based businesses and a law office is open bi-weekly.

Our Kinsmen, Kinette, K-40 and K-ette Clubs carry on the Kin tradition of ‘Serving the Community’s Greatest Needs’. The Dinsmore Memorial Arena, built in 1994, offers minor hockey, girls and men’s hockey, curling and bowling in a building funded by local supporters. We are part of the Wheatland Public Library system, which provides our residents a literary, and Internet access. A large museum is cared for by volunteers and houses hundreds of artifacts that are part of our treasured past. A vigorous Senior’s group sponsors parties and activities throughout the year. Religious denominations in the local area are United Church, Alliance and Pentecostal.

Our close proximity to Gardiner Dam and Lake Diefenbaker allows easy access to angling, water sports, golf and camping. When you come for a visit, we can offer you camping in the serviced sites in the campground adjacent to the sports ground and ball diamonds.

Dynamic Dinsmore Ventures would welcome any inquiries regarding your interest in taking up residence with us in the province of Saskatchewan.
